Title: Introduction to Visual Basic

Info: This book is meant for the beginner. Its primary purpose is to get you up and writing programs in the shortest possible time. For that reason I take a very practical approach (thus the title). While all of the .NET languages has many things in common, the newer 2005 and 2008 versions has new features and such that may Not be supported in the earlier versions of Visual Basic.NET. I figured I would create a page with some of the programs I use pretty often. They are all Free for the most part and some are even open source based.

Last Updated: May 1st 2008 – I added two more Free programs to the list. Blender which is a very nice Free 3D Modeling, Rendering, Imaging, Shading, and MUCH more. I also added SUPER which is a Free program for playing and encoding a great Many multimedia based files. They claim their player can play formats that WMP and the like can’t play. Anyways, these two programs are at the bottom of this page. Enjoy!

For example if you change the name of a variable, a option will be available that will change the name to all occurances of that variable you changed. Eazfuscator.NET 1.7  - A Free program to make it very easy to obfuscate your application which will make it harder to read your code if they decompile it.

Visual Basic 6.0 Decompiler  - This program will try to decompile a VB 6.0 program that was compiled to Native code. It isn’t a full-blown decompiler (at this time at least…) but is one of the best I have seen thus far. The link below will take you to the VBReFormer   which is the name of this decompiler.

This is a cool racing game that you can play solo and play online with racers all over the world. It even shows your rank based on your country, and even your city/state.
